Dr. Andrew Trecartin received exceptional training in pediatric surgery at the University of Colorado where he completed his fellowship. He also treats each individual patient with meticulous care, working hard to make sure they have the best possible outcome.
ETSU Health is remarkably active in serving underserved communities both locally and globally. Dr. Trecartin wanted to be a part of this mission.
Several life experiences inspired Dr. Trecartin to become a doctor. He observed his uncle, a vascular surgeon, gently holding the hand of an elderly patient while explaining how he would take excellent care of her. Dr. Trecartin also spent a school year volunteering on a medical boat in the Amazon jungle. These experiences impressed upon him how doctors can develop skills and apply science to help people recover.
He and his wife have three children. They lived in Chad, Africa, for several years and continue to remain active in supporting surgical education there. He enjoys many outdoor activities including hiking, canoeing, fishing, cycling and gardening with his family.
