Dr. Dan Frechtling became a doctor to develop skills to fight vector-borne and emerging infectious diseases. He was a Peace Corps volunteer in Liberia in 2014 during the early part of the Ebola epidemic. Between malaria and Ebola, he found inspiration for a career in medicine.
He believes that medicine is best when it is a collaboration - when patients, doctors, and the rest of the care team work together to advance health. He takes his role in this very seriously and wants patients to hold the team to that.
Dr. Frechtling joined the ETSU Health team for the opportunity to work with students and residents. He enjoys teaching and has benefitted from great teachers in the past. He hopes to pass on some of his knowledge to the next generation of physicians.
Outside of work, Dr. Frechtling enjoys cooking for his partner, Alyssa, baking bread, hiking and listening to classical music.
