Impressed by the compassion and care he received as a 10-year-old from a pediatrician at a clinic for the underserved, Dr. George Ford committed himself to a future in medicine. He chose pediatric endocrinology to serve as an advocate for children and provide them with the care they need to live healthy and productive lives. Pediatric endocrinology offers a unique opportunity to ameliorate hormone and glandular issues that are so important for a growing and developing child.

Dr. Ford's philosophy for treating patients is to provide the best possible care while avoiding unnecessary treatments or tests that might be a burden for the family. He also seeks to ensure that every patient knows they are important and cared for. He has found listening to be a critical skill that enables him to provide more effective care. His favorite thing about being a physician is being able to dramatically change a child’s life by providing necessary treatment. 

He is married with four children. His family enjoys board games, dance parties, movie nights, hiking, cycling and exercising in the outdoors. Prior to moving to Johnson City, they lived in Washington State, Vermont and most recently, Oregon. They fell in love withthe South because of the beautiful waterfalls and natural beauties of this region, but especially the amazing and wonderful people here. They regularly attend a Christian church and are very active in their faith.
