Watch Dr. Riem's Provider Interview

Dr. Kristen Riem always knew she wanted to be in a profession where she could help children and teens. She believes her passion for learning can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Dr. Riem has the great privilege of working with a wonderful team of behavioral health providers at ETSU Health Pediatrics. She quickly fell in love with the primary care setting and the collaborative work with other providers to best meet a child’s needs. Pediatrics' on-demand care model allows behavioral health providers to see families the same day they are already in the office with their pediatrician if a concern arises, followed by additional visits as needed.

Choosing one of ETSU Health's talented and caring pediatricians is the first step toward working with Dr. Riem. This opens the door for a partnership between behavioral health and medical providers, ensuring care as one cohesive team. Dr. Riem hopes that knowing behavioral health services are integrated into the clinic will encourage families to choose ETSU Health for all their healthcare needs.

With a background in school psychology, Dr. Riem has always had a passion for meeting children where they are and providing care as part of a team. She wants families to know that they are an essential part of this team, and their knowledge of their child and unique context is highly valued.
